Description

When we went into lockdown, I started reading the book “Man and his Symbols” by Carl Jung. As society was shutting down and, in some cases, collapsing in a way that felt tragic-comic, Jung’s notion of the trickster archetype felt especially relevant. So early on as I sat through the endless zoom meetings that have come to define quarantine, I started sketching pictures of harlequins, and this is one I kind of liked. Dark, but interesting, and seeming to reflect the feeling of the moment, with things increasingly out of control and our hollowed out institutions failing us left and right.
