In 2020 I was a senior in high school. I took AP studio art class which meant I had to produce my own series on an overarching theme. My chosen theme was concealment and given the issues of the times, I took inspiration from the pandemic. For this piece, the concealment of the mask is for the protection of yourself and others. The figure is also seen wearing sunglasses and headphones to further show how we tried to conceal ourselves from our surroundings and vice versa, in order to cope with life in 2020.
