Duchess of Doom
Mixed Media on Paper
12" x 18"
Description
In the spring of 2020, as the anxiety began to rise due to the pandemic, I was not able to concentrate on my oil paintings. I made a series of works on paper to process all of the emotions. Figures in veil-like masks emerged among swirling shapes. The Duchess of Doom was made at the beginning of the pandemic. There was a sense of needing to be protected because we had no idea of what was to come.
